We met her in The Deadly Years. She was the only one of Kirk's landing party to die from the weird aging disease, poor girl. The others were saved in the nick of time.
She didn't face her weird fate too bravely. She was frankly terrified about what was happening, and she didn't handle it too gracefully, but nobody thought any less of her because of it. She got tons of understanding and support from her comrades. She kept working until her very last few minutes, partially because she was afraid to go to sleep.
